Meaning of Home

What is home? Is it a place? Is it what we feel in our heart? In this post, I specifically am talking about the home that does not include where we are from or where we live. What is home in that scenario? Let me bring up what home is to me if Charlotte is out of the picture.

Gardner Webb University

  • My university is located in Boiling Springs, NC. That town is in the middle of no where. It seems as if it will not feel like home due to the location. In my case, GWU was home. I spent time at Pinterest Night, Pumpkin Painting, Candy and Critters, School Dances, Gingerbread House Making, Disney World and going to two tours among other Student Activity events. In addition, I was part of a service club. I knew I was meant to be a GWU Bulldog.

Florida

  • I may not be a beach person, but the state of Florida is home to me. Specifically, Ponte Vedra is what I would home. Ever since I was young, I went to Ponte Vedra for almost every year of my life. So, the state is like my home away from home. Some times, my family went to St. Augustine for part of the trip. When it comes to my family, I was able to visit Orlando to to Disney World- the one time I remember the most was when BOTH Sea World and Disney World were included.

  1. This was really cool to read. Home is really something that has a complex meaning, but I like how Beauty and the Beast puts it: “Home will be where the heart is.” I think there’s something so profoundly true about this; home’s not just the place where you live. Great post!
