Princess Bride Movie Review

Westley and Buttercup on a poster of The Princess Bride in a magical and enchanting setting

A fairy tale adventure about a beautiful young woman and her one true love. He must find her after a long separation and save her. They must battle the evils of the mythical kingdom of Florin to be reunited with each other.

The Princess Bride is one of those movies that everyone needs to watch. It is a movie full of adventure, comedy, and true love. I don’t remember when I first started watching it, but it was a LONG time ago, but a few days ago I watched it again. It was still just as funny, and had the same adventure and true love that it had before. It has very memorable lines and characters.

Possible Spoilers:

You have characters like Buttercup, the brave and clever Westley, Fezzik, Vezzini, Inigo Montoya, Prince Humperdinck, and Count Rugen. There is no way to forget them. Prince Humperdinck is the chief antagonist. How can you forget about the six-fingered Count Rugen, the secondary antagonist? Words and lines like “INCONCEIVABLE”, “As You Wish”, and “My Name is Inigo Montoya, You killed my Father, Prepare to Die” make it memorable.

It has this incredible world. Places like the fire swamp, cliff of insanity, and so on make it a wonderful place. The true love is found between Westley and Buttercup- it is truly their story. Prince Humperdinck will stop at nothing to make sure they are never together.

It is hard to explain why I love this movie. It is just incredible- that’s all there is. Sword fights, true love, comedy, miracles, and adventure together make A Princess Bride the story that it is.

  1. Ah, The Princess Bride is one of my favorite movies! I have been watching it for many, many years as well. It’s so well done and witty, you can watch it multiple times and it’s still entertaining. All the best movies can withstand years of viewing without getting tired out.
